4. Scope of Services The Florida Department of Transportation,Office of Information Technology (OIT), is in search of a SystemsAdministrator to play a key role in assisting the OIT in the oversight,management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms tosupport FDOT's infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs.The duties of this position can be broad and may include such tasks as addingand removing individuals from the list of authorized users, archiving files,overseeing password protection and other security measures, and monitoringusage of shared resources. Architect, design, facilitate, lead, coordinate,and direct technology initiatives on multiple fronts across a variety ofdisparate areas within the organization. This could include Infrastructureadministration, application development, data management & analytics,cybersecurity, external hosting, identity and access management,infrastructure, network, security hardening, privacy, and compliance.Oversight and management of Microsoft 365 environments and other Microsoftplatforms, identity platforms, and a multi-cloud environment. Selects,develops, integrates, and implements network management applications forInternet components. The Systems Administrator will be responsible forworking on projects, systems, and/or issues of medium to high complexity and will be expected to provide dailyoperations support, maintenance, and administration for Servers. This position requires ownership ofcomplex issues in order to support Department business. 5. Education Bachelor's Degree or technical institute degree in ComputerScience, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent workexperience. 6. Experience 2 - 3 years experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and2022. 2 - 3 years IIS Administration. 2 - 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNSSamba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions. 2 - 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloudsystems is required . 2 - 3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azurecloud systems is highlydesired. 2 - 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such asGCP, is highly desired. 2 - 3 years of professional experience in the administration ofMicrosoft software is highlydesired. 3 - 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/networkenvironments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration. 3 - 5 years of professional experience supporting middlewaresuch as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job servicesis highly desired. 5 - 8 years of professional experience in information systemsengineering or a related field is required . 7. Primary Job Duties / Tasks The activities this candidate will be tasked with include, butare not limited to, the following: 1.Support and expand FDOT infrastructure. 2.Coordinate server configuration andadministration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors). 3.Make recommendations for future server andsoftware upgrades. 4.Monitor systems and applications to ensuresecurity, availability, and performance. 5.Establish systems by evaluating networkperformance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput,and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation,configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures;and establishing connections and firewalls. 6.Maintains network and systems performance byperforming systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning;troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems tovendor. 7.Build and manage relationships in a matrixedenvironment. 8.Find opportunities to refactor solutions toobtain better performance, cost, and efficiency. 9.Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, gitrepositories, and pipelines. 10. Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings. 11. Recommend and assist with the building and hosting ofcomplex application solutions. 12. Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/orother cloud services. 13. Supports other IT staff, including developers. 14. Other duties as assigned. 8.
