Extrusion Operator

The Extrusion Operator will set up and operate extrusion equipment based on job specifications set by the customer. Operators should be able to communicate effectively with other operators up and down the line to problem solve. Job Duties Read blueprints and can drawings to determine job specifications and tooling. Set up and operate all extrusion equipment. Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on extrusion related equipment. Observe machine operations to detect machine faults and make adjustments necessary for the line. Communication with fellow operators to update on production. Perform routine quality checks and record findings to ensure cans are meeting job specifications. Proficiently perform changeovers and production of aluminum containers to the specifications set by the customer. Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions. Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager. Perform all other job duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Requirements Basic computer skills. Ability to solve problems. Possess excellent verbal communication skills. Strong mechanical aptitude Quality control skills Must be a team player and possess a "can do" attitude. Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor. Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English. This role is in a manufacturing environment and the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts that produce noise.
