Oceanographic Field Operations ManagerThe selected individual will be responsible for contributing to and frequently leading the planning, execution, and oversight of oceanographic and metocean field operations and data workflows, ensuring high-quality data collection, processing, and reporting in support of client and project needs. The position also supports business development and project delivery by providing operational and technical input to proposals, estimating equipment and logistical requirements, supporting field deployments, maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation, and overseeing data processing and QA/QC activities. This position will work closely with other project scientists to ensure that operational approaches, data products, and analyses align with scientific objectives and project requirements, while remaining focused on efficient, safe, and commercially sound execution. Periodic domestic and international travel and working time at sea is required.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to and sometimes lead and support metocean field operations, including planning, mobilization, deployment, recovery, and demobilizationCoordinate closely with project scientists to translate scientific objectives into practical field and data acquisition plansLead or oversee installation, calibration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of oceanographic and metocean instrumentationProvide operational input to commercial proposals, including scope definition, equipment selection, logistics planning, schedules, and cost estimatesManage and support data acquisition, post-processing, analysis, QA/QC, modeling and write-up of metocean datasets in collaboration with project scientistsDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field operations and data workflowsLead or oversee project teams with technical problem-solving during field and data-processing phasesLead or coordinate with clients, project managers, and scientists to manage data deliverables to meet contractual, technical, and quality requirementsPrepare, review, and contribute to survey reports and technical documentation, with emphasis on methods, operations, data integrity, and interpretationLead compliance with all health, safety and security requirements, company policies, and client safety standardsPersonal AttributesExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsSelf-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal oversightStrong attention to detail and commitment to data qualityPractical, solution-oriented approach to field and technical challengesEffective team player able to work with multidisciplinary and multicultural teamsSound judgment and decision-making skills in operational environmentsConsistent and timely completion of work assignmentsRequired QualificationsFive (5) or more years of experience in metocean or oceanographic operations, data acquisition, or a similar technical roleDemonstrated experience supporting technical proposals and cost estimatesStrong knowledge of marine field operations, mooring systems, instrumentation deployment, and equipment logisticsHands-on experience with installation, calibration, operation, post-processing, analysis, and QA/QC of metocean dataExperience preparing and reviewing survey reports and technical deliverablesProficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirementsAbility to obtain and maintain a TWIC cardWillingness and ability to travel domestically and internationallyStrong commitment to personal and team safety, including completion of required safety training and medical assessmentsDesired QualificationsAdvanced University degree or equivalent technical experience in a STEM-related field (e.g., Geomatics, Oceanography, Meteorology, Geosciences, Earth Engineering, or a related discipline).Hydrodynamic and/or oceanographic circulation modeling skillsForeign language skills
