Our organization is looking to recruit a Board Certified/Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner with expertise in family medicine.

The role involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, and executing medical care for patients in partnership with a physician. You will operate within the full scope of your licensure, taking responsibility for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care. This includes direct patient care, education for patients and their families, and managing transitions of care. You will provide holistic and personalized care to all patients in your designated area. Additionally, you will develop, implement, and oversee an interdisciplinary care plan that considers psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with patients, their families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals through effective communication is essential. Compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, best practices, and relevant laws/regulations is crucial to ensure a high-quality patient experience. Continuous professional development in advanced nursing practice is encouraged. You will adhere to ambulatory care and inpatient standardized procedures, protocols, and policies as mandated by the State of California Nurse Practice Act.

Position Requirements

• Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of recent relevant experience is required.

• Education, Licenses & Certifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school.

  • Master's degree in Nursing.

  • California Nurse Practitioner license from the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

  • National certification from one of the following: AANPCB, ANCC, AACN, PNCP, or NCC.

  • Nurse Practitioner Furnishing certification.

  • California Registered Nurse license.

  • Controlled Substance Registration Certification (DEA) - not required for non-patient care roles.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Additional certifications may be required based on departmental needs, such as:

    • CPNP for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner roles.

    • ACLS for hospital-based roles (excluding NICU).

    • NRP for Family Birthing Center roles.

• Skills & Knowledge

  • Proven knowledge and proficiency in advanced nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

  • Understanding of the healthcare industry, safety policies, best practices for patient care and privacy, and relevant regulations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records.

  • Able to prioritize and delegate tasks while adhering to established policies and procedures to meet objectives.

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to identify, assess, and resolve standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.

  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of each patient's protected health information (PHI).

  • Skilled in fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

As a member of a larger health network, this 49-bed acute care hospital provides a variety of essential healthcare services.
