Location: Rome, Georgia Reports To: Vice President of Programs & Operations Position Overview The Deputy Director of Program & Training Operations strengthens DDM’s program quality, training systems, and statewide operational consistency. Reporting to the Vice President of Programs & Operations, this role serves as a key operational leader, overseeing training development, program implementation, and staff support across all regions. This position includes an indirect line of management for all Program staff statewide and will also serve as a Designated Developmental Disabilities Professional (DDP), completing required visits, documentation, and oversight responsibilities in compliance with DBHDD standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Training, Workforce Development & Curriculum Leadership Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of DDM’s statewide training curriculum. Create consistent onboarding, annual, and ongoing training aligned with DBHDD, CARF, and organizational standards. Oversee Relias training compliance and implement corrective actions when needed. Provide coaching and training to Program Managers, Residential Service Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals, and Host Home Providers. Coordinate advanced training initiatives in documentation, compliance, leadership, and crisis response. Conduct field-based training observations to assess competency and training effectiveness. Serve as the agency trainer for all Program positions including but not limited to Program Mangers, Residential Services Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals and Host Home Providers. 2. Programmatic Oversight & Operational Support Support the VP in managing statewide program operations with consistent expectations and standards. Provide indirect supervision to Program Managers, assisting with problem-solving, staffing challenges, and compliance issues. Participate in program reviews, audits, and inspections, ensuring corrective actions are completed. Conduct regular site visits to homes and programs to evaluate service quality, documentation, and staff performance. Assist with updating, implementing, and training staff on DDM policies and procedures. 3. DDP Responsibilities & Clinical Oversight Complete all assigned monthly/quarterly DDP visits according to DBHDD standards. Document all required service notes, assessments, and oversight documentation accurately and on time. Provide oversight of ISP implementation, person-centered supports, and outcome progress. Identify risks, health/safety concerns, or unmet needs and ensure follow-up. Collaborate with Nurses and Program Managers to ensure consistency between clinical, health, and program supports. Participate in ISP meetings, support team meetings, and other clinical reviews as assigned. Provide DDP-level training and consultation to Program Managers and direct care staff. 4. Quality Assurance, Compliance & Performance Improvement Partner with the Operations Manager review incident trends, audits, and compliance findings. Ensure training and program practices reflect the latest regulatory expectations. Use data from QA, incident management, and documentation reviews to drive improvement plans. Support CARF preparation, internal audits, and quality enhancement projects. 5. Leadership Development & Staff Coaching Mentor Program Managers and Supervisors to improve leadership, communication, and compliance performance. Provide leadership workshops and targeted coaching based on performance assessments. Reinforce a culture of professionalism, accountability, core values and mission-centered service delivery. 6. Nursing & Health Services Coordination Support Nurses and Program Managers on health service tasks, documentation, and follow-up. Ensure staff are trained in medication oversight, health documentation, and emergency response protocols. Assist with program-wide health initiatives, safety plans, and risk mitigation. 7. Strategic Implementation & Organizational Alignment Assist the VP in executing strategic initiatives related to program growth, service quality, and operational efficiency. Provide reports, metrics, and recommendations to the VP for organizational decision-making. Support expansion of new services, including Host Home and Group Home development. Required Qualifications Designation as a DDP (Developmental Disabilities Professional) as defined by relevant state regulations. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Special Education, Public Administration, or related field. 5–10 years of progressive experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in case management or developmental disability services. Thorough knowledge of HCBS waiver programs, person-centered planning, and regulatory compliance. Screening Questions Do you have experience in a similar role?
