Our client, an established non-profit organization in WNY, is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to join their team.This is an excellent opportunity, with a great work-life balance, to have an impact on the community and perform purpose-driven work. Responsibilities:
- Overseeday-to-day accounting operations to ensure that the organization isrunning smoothly
- Manage,mentor, and train accounting personnel- 4 staff members including a SeniorAccountant, Staff Accountant, Grants Administrator, and a Part-timeAccountant
- Manageall aspects of fund, investment, and trust accounting-including incomeallocations & CRTs (Charitable Remainder Trusts)
- Overseegrant and distribution processes, ensuring funds are being allocatedappropriately
- Ensuregift, stock and contribution accounting processes are being carried out ina detailed/efficient manner
- Auditaccounting processes and determine if there are any areas for improvement
- Createand implement process improvements to streamline efficiencies
- Auditaccounting systems and conduct research into newer/up-to-date systems toimplement and improve financial workflows
- Trainaccounting staff on new processes/financial systems as they are beingimplemented
- Prepareannual budgets utilizing actual financial reports; conduct budget analysisvs. spending and prepare/present quarterly budget reports to upperleadership and external stakeholders
- Jugglemultiple tasks at a time in a fast-paced environment
- Workwell in a team environment as well as independently
- Otherduties as assigned/as necessary
- Position is full-time, direct hire (great work/life balancewith 40 hour weeks: 35 hours work week with 1 hour lunch each day)
- 100% in-office
- $75,000- $90,000 annually depending on experience
- Excellentbenefits: 50-80% Employer contribution to health insurance (depending ontier), life insurance, disability, 3+ weeks PTO, roughly 20+ paidholidays, 401k with match (5%), complimentary fitness membership
- Bachelor'sdegree in Accounting
- 3-5years' experience in public or private accounting
- Experiencewith debits/credits required
- Experiencewith fund accounting, investment accounting, trust accounting, etc. highlypreferred
- Supervisoryexperience preferred; innate leadership skills for someone who is ready totake the next step in their career
- Greatinterpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficientcomputer skills
- Strongorganizational and time management skills
- Quicklearner
- Meticulousattention to detail!!!
- Self-motivated
- Relocationnot available
