Relentless in our work, we enhance lives through action, education, and accelerating change.WHAT WE BELIEVE INNKF's Mission is what we do, our Values are how we do it.Accountability- Earn and Keep TrustCollaboration-Work as a teamCommunication- Empower with informationCommunity-Build stronger communityCompassion- Lead with care and respectImpact-Focus on the missionYour Voice Matters: YOU'LL DOThe National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Development Manager will support fundraising growth, community engagement, and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives across the CA, NV, OR, WA market, with a primary focus on Southern California and the regional Kidney Walk program.A successful candidate will be responsible for developing and stewarding corporate and community partnerships, supporting peer-to-peer fundraising growth, engaging volunteers and community leaders, and driving revenue through fundraising events, sponsorships, and donor engagement.The Development Manager serves as an important bridge between fundraising strategy, constituent engagement, and operational execution, helping drive revenue growth while ensuring successful delivery of fundraising initiatives throughout the market.The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder with strong organizational and communication skills who enjoys engaging volunteers, participants, sponsors, and community partners while managing multiple projects and priorities. Success in this role requires initiative, attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to achieve results in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESFundraising & Revenue Generation (Approximately 65%)Develop and steward a portfolio of sponsors, community partners, event teams, volunteer leaders, and individual supporters to advance fundraising goals and mission impactDrive growth of the regional Kidney Walk program through participant recruitment, fundraising coaching, volunteer engagement, and team developmentRecruit, engage, and support Kidney Walk participants, teams, volunteer leaders, committee members, and fundraising championsDevelop and implement strategies to increase peer-to-peer fundraising participation, team growth, donor retention, and overall event revenueManage sponsorship renewals and identify opportunities to grow corporate and community partnershipsServe as a collaborative member of the development team influencing and driving relationships and best practices to accomplish market and region financial goalsRepresent NKF at community events, networking opportunities, committee meetings, and partner engagements throughout Southern CaliforniaRecruit and engage event committees, volunteer leaders, and community ambassadorsMaintain assigned fundraising and relationship-building activity goalsPartner with the Development Director and market development team to support financial goals of market events, programs and prioritized initiativesTrack fundraising progress and support achievement of regional revenue goalsDevelopment Operations & Event Support (Approximately 35%)Coordinate sponsor fulfillment and stewardship activities to ensure an exceptional partner experienceMaintain accurate donor, sponsor, participant, and fundraising records and support development reporting, fundraising dashboards, revenue tracking, and pipeline managementIn coordination with the National Field Operations team and regional staff, support planning, execution, and successful implementation of fundraising events and related initiativesManage timelines, project plans, follow-up activities, and communications for assigned projects, committees, sponsors, participants, and volunteersAssist with onsite event execution, budget tracking, reporting, and administrative functions related to fundraising initiativesIdentify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency to support fundraising growth and enhance constituent experienceEnsure compliance with NKF policies, including employment, risk management, event and cash handling, and financial controlsDemonstrate integrity, collaboration, and stewardshipOther duties as assignedWHAT YOU'LL POSSESSAccountability: Takes ownership of actions, decisions, and results, ensuring high standards of performance and transparencyCollaboration: Collaborates effectively with peers and stakeholders, contributing to shared team goals.
