QA Manager

Quality Assurance (QA) Manager The QA Manager is responsible for leading the quality assurance function, ensuring that software products meet defined standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role involves managing QA teams, defining testing strategies, and driving continuous improvement in testing processes. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA analysts and engineers Define and implement QA strategies, standards, and best practices Oversee test planning, execution, and delivery timelines Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders Establish and improve test automation frameworks and processes Monitor and report on quality metrics, KPIs, and defect trends Ensure thorough functional, regression, integration, performance, and UAT testing Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies Drive continuous improvement initiatives in QA processes Ensure adherence to SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies Participate in release planning and go/no-go decisions Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field 712+ years of experience in software testing/QA 35+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processes Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail) Solid understanding of automation testing frameworks Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured) ISTQB or similar certification Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Key Competencies Strategic thinking and problem-solving Leadership and team development Quality-focused mindset Risk management Process improvement and innovation Cross-functional collaboration Typical Tools & Technologies Test Management: TestRail, Zephyr Bug Tracking: Jira Automation: Selenium, Cypress Performance Testing: JMeter, LoadRunner API Testing: Postman CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions Version Control: Git KPIs / Success Metrics Defect leakage rate Test coverage and effectiveness Release quality and stability Automation coverage Cycle time for testing Customer-reported issues #J-18808-Ljbffr
