MSIM- Product Specialist- Mortgage & Securitized Associate

The team invests across the broad spectrum of global securitized assets, including agency and non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, and other structured credit sectors. The team’s investment strategies span retail funds, institutional separately managed accounts and other pooled investment vehicles, and apply an actively managed, fundamentally driven investment approach.The Fixed Income Product Specialist will join the Mortgage & Securitized team to support the Institutional Portfolio Managers and investment team across the team’s funds, separately managed accounts, and pooled vehicles. This individual will also support the firm’s $20 billion Strategic Income strategy. This role will help translate portfolio positioning, performance and market developments into clear internal and client-facing materials and will contribute to ongoing business support activities such as reporting, competitive/market analysis and RFP/RFI responses. Client interaction will be in support of senior team members.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and summarize market developments, economic releases and portfolio activity across Mortgage & Securitized strategies for internal use and inclusion in client materials.Draft and update client portfolio review materials and market commentary in partnership with the Institutional Portfolio Managers, leveraging investment team inputs, internal attribution data and external sources.Support consultant and client coverage by preparing meeting materials, maintaining standard messaging and following up on information requests under the direction of senior team members.Coordinate internally with Distribution, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Operations teams to support onboarding, ongoing account maintenance and reporting needs.Conduct competitor analysis and market research to support positioning, product knowledge and responses to stakeholder inquiries.Manage data, performance metrics and due diligence content required for RFPs/RFIs and other business support requests; help ensure timely and accurate completion.Requirements2-5 years of experience in asset management, investments, product, research, client service, or a related role.Working knowledge of fixed income markets; familiarity with securitized assets, corporate credit or emerging markets debt is a plus.Strong writing, editing and data-driven storytelling skills; comfort presenting internally and contributing to client materials.Highly organized, proactive and detail-oriented; able to meet deadlines and multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.Interest in levered credit and enthusiasm for developing deeper product expertise over time.Strong analytical skills and resourcefulness to efficiently solve problems and synthesize information.Familiarity with performance, attribution and risk concepts (or the ability to learn quickly).Strong technical skills: Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Morningstar Direct, eVestment, Bloomberg preferred.Bachelor’s degree required.CFA or progress toward CFA strongly preferred.FINRA Series 7 & 65/66 preferred.Who you areTakes accountability and ownership for deliverables, with a focus on accuracy and long-term value creation.Demonstrates strong attention to detail and sound judgment when working with sensitive information.Collaborates well across teams and functions to help deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.Brings a continuous improvement mindset and looks for ways to streamline processes and enhance materials.Engaged and willing to contribute to team culture and broader firm initiatives, as appropriate.Committed to learning, seeking feedback and developing product expertise over time.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
