Work Environment\n

This role offers a flexible remote working environment while serving clients from our outpatient office. As an LMFT, you will be expected to manage your schedule to provide therapy at optimal times for both the clients and their families, including availability during after-school hours. Emphasizing a collaborative approach, you will connect and work synergistically with other specialists to ensure integrated care for your clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver individualized in-home therapy and facilitate group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, tailoring sessions to meet the unique needs of each child.

• Provide effective anger management strategies, coping mechanisms, and social skills training, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Assist both youth and their caretakers in enhancing their decision-making capabilities to better navigate in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each child's therapy.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring all records are submitted within designated time frames.
\n
• Participate in monthly professional meetings, contributing valuable insights and recommendations to enhance overall service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position specifically focuses on children aged 3-20 who are facing developmental and intellectual challenges. The therapist will engage with families from diverse backgrounds, addressing unique behavioral needs and reinforcing the importance of familial support systems. This role is critical in equipping children with tools for improved social interaction, emotional regulation, and overall life satisfaction.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with added flexibility during weekends viewed favorably.

• A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle are essential for client transportation.
\n
• This position requires passing a comprehensive criminal background check that includes fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least three years of professional experience in providing therapeutic services, particularly within the context of children with developmental disabilities or special needs.

• Experience implementing positive behavior support strategies is highly desired.

• Prior experience working directly with children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n
