Work Environment\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Clear Mind Therapy Clinic, you will work in a remote capacity while having the option to meet clients in our outpatient office. Our organization values flexibility and accommodates various schedules, particularly as we recognize the challenges faced by families during traditional school hours. The role requires availability for evening sessions from 4 PM to 7 PM at least 5-10 hours weekly, with potential weekend sessions as well.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized therapy sessions in clients' homes or within our outpatient facility, focusing on the specific needs of each child and their family.

• Implement therapeutic techniques addressing anger management, coping strategies, and enhancing social skills to mitigate high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.

• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to coordinate care and support for the youth and their families effectively.
\n
• Document all therapeutic activities and interactions, ensuring timely submission of intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes as per our operational guidelines.

• Contribute to monthly team meetings where insights and recommendations for client care are shared, promoting an integrated therapeutic approach.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily serves children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who experience developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Therapists will work closely not only with youth but also with their caregivers, equipping them with decision-making skills and strategies to manage behavioral difficulties at home. You will be instrumental in transforming the lives of families dealing with exceptional needs, using evidence-based practices tailored to diverse cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.

• An active, unrestricted LMFT license in the state of New York.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for home visits.

Preferred Experience\n

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical settings, particularly in providing therapy to children and adolescents.

• Experience with positive behavior support strategies and therapeutic interventions for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Familiarity with bilingual practices, specifically fluency in Spanish or Portuguese, is highly desirable.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
