Work Environment\n

This position operates in a remote setting, which allows for increased flexibility in both scheduling and service delivery. You will engage in intensive in-community therapeutic services, primarily conducting sessions in clients' homes or via teletherapy options when appropriate. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team ensures a shared commitment to the wellness and progress of each child and family. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the clients' homes or within our outpatient center, focusing on tailored treatment plans that meet each child's unique needs.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions which promote social skills and coping mechanisms, helping participants learn to manage their emotions and related behaviors.
\n
• Address specific behavioral challenges such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and aggression through targeted interventions like anger management and positive behavior support.
\n
• Work collaboratively within the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to each child's care, integrating recommendations and insights from all disciplines involved.
\n
• Document progress and treatment plans accurately in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring timely submission of intake forms and progress notes.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and strategies to enhance service delivery and team dynamics.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clients you will work with are children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are facing challenges associated with developmental disabilities and intellectual disorders. Your role is pivotal in creating a safe, trusting therapeutic environment where these young individuals can express themselves and work through their challenges. Your bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese will enhance your ability to connect with and support a diverse range of families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.

• A valid and active LMFT license in the state of New York without restrictions.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexibility for weekends being a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to clients’ homes.
\n
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting required for all professionals working with minors.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Demonstrated success in providing positive behavior support and crisis intervention techniques.

Compensation and Benefits\n
