The Healing Mind and Soul Center is actively seeking a dedicated and an empathetic Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time, remote position provides a unique opportunity to engage with a diverse client population across New Jersey. You will play a critical role in delivering intensive in-community therapeutic services tailored to children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges.

Work Environment\n

This position offers a primarily remote work setting, allowing you to provide therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home while serving clients across the state. However, in-home visits may be required, where you will administer therapeutic interventions in natural settings. The flexibility of remote work is balanced by the necessity for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, emphasizing our teamwork-driven approach to mental health.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapies, designed to foster emotional resilience and behavioral improvements.
\n
• Implementing targeted interventions focusing on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development.
\n
• Working diligently to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression through specialized therapeutic methodologies.
\n
• Collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team and other external professionals to create integrated care strategies for clients and their families.
\n
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation for client treatment (including intake assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans), crucial for continuity of care.
\n
• Participating actively in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress and contribute recommendations for treatment adjustments.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will focus on a diverse group of clients, comprising children and adolescents aged 3-20 who exhibit developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. By engaging with this population, you will be facilitating significant improvements in their emotional and social functioning, enabling better outcomes for their families.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Possess a Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
\n
• Hold an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• Commit to a minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with some weekend flexibility.
\n
• Have strong communication skills, demonstrating a collaborative approach in engaging with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support methods.
\n
• Prior experience working with children ages 3-20, especially those with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).

• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for necessary in-home sessions.
