Work Environment\n

This position allows for the flexibility of remote work while maintaining an outpatient office presence. You will engage in individual and group therapy sessions either in clients' homes or in our outpatient center, ensuring that our services are effectively tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions and lead group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, adapting strategies to meet the specific needs and developmental stages of children.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to provide anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions (SIB) or physical aggression.

• Support youth and caregivers in improving decision-making skills that address in-home behavioral challenges through engaging and interactive methodologies.

• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to ensure a holistic approach towards family support.
\n
• Maintain accurate documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring they are submitted within designated time frames.

• Participate in monthly team meetings and contribute valuable insights and recommendations based on your therapeutic observations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work primarily with children and adolescents aged 3-20, focusing on those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our clients often face unique challenges that require a sensitive and adaptable therapeutic approach. As a bilingual therapist, proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly valued, expanding our capacity to serve diverse family backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is essential.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with weekend availability considered a plus.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and a strong commitment to family-centered care.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are necessary due to the in-home nature of some therapy services.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

Ideal candidates will have previous experience working with children who exhibit challenging behaviors and mental health concerns, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
