Work Environment\n

In this role, you will work remotely, providing in-home or group therapy sessions primarily at our outpatient office in Dallas. You will have the flexibility to develop your schedule, allowing you to offer therapy sessions during critical after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM), with weekend availability considered beneficial. Our team operates collaboratively, promoting consistency and communication among all involved professionals contributing to the care of our youth and families.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, either in clients' homes or at our outpatient center, providing a safe space for children and families to express their needs.

• Implement evidence-based practices to teach anger management, coping strategies, and social skills, targeting significant behavioral issues such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Assist youth and their caretakers in enhancing decision-making abilities to address and manage in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Collaborate continuously with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals, ensuring an integrated approach to support the clients' needs.
\n
• Complete all required documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring timely submission that adheres to clinic guidelines.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing recommendations that foster improved service delivery and client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position focuses on a diverse population of children aged 3 to 20, particularly those who exhibit developmental and intellectual disabilities. As a bilingual therapist (preferred in Spanish or Portuguese), you will play a vital role in bridging language barriers, ensuring that all families receive accessible and effective therapeutic support tailored to their cultural context.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is mandatory.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) credential is required.

• A commitment to providing therapy on a flexible schedule, specifically 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle to travel for in-home sessions.

• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support is preferred.

• Prior working experience with children aged 3 to 20 who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
