Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home while providing services to clients across Seattle, Washington, and the surrounding areas. However, occasional in-person meetings or sessions in our outpatient office may be required. You will benefit from collaborative weekly meetings with a cross-disciplinary treatment team to discuss cases, brainstorm solutions, and enhance your skills in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide individualized in-home therapy sessions or group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

• Implement therapeutic techniques to teach anger management, coping strategies, and social skills, fostering healthier interactions and reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury or aggression.
\n
• Empower youth and caregivers by enhancing their decision-making capabilities in managing behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Engage in cooperative and effective communication with the Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring that all professionals involved are aligned and working towards common treatment goals.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including intake evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to established deadlines and regulatory requirements.
\n
• Attend monthly meetings to present recommendations based on observed progress and collaborate on effective treatment strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this position, you will work primarily with children aged 3-20 who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will be tasked with understanding their unique challenges and providing tailored support that fosters emotional growth and behavioral improvement. As a bilingual therapist fluent in Spanish or Portuguese, you will also have the opportunity to assist underserved communities, ensuring access to crucial mental health services.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a relevant field is required for this position.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in Washington State is essential.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours during the after-school hours of 4-7 PM, with additional flexibility for weekend sessions being a plus.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a registered vehicle for potential on-site visits.
\n
• Completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory prior to employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children ages 3-20, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, is strongly preferred.

• Experience providing positive behavior support and intervention strategies is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits\n
