The Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized in-home therapy sessions and group therapy sessions in our outpatient center, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each child.

• Implement therapeutic techniques to teach anger management, coping strategies, and social skills while addressing and reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and physical aggression.
\n
• Work closely with youth and their caregivers, enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively address in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Engage in collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, contributing to a cohesive support network for each child and their family.
\n
• Ensure timely documentation of all therapy sessions including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes to comply with clinic policies.
\n
• Participate in monthly meetings to discuss case progress and provide recommendations for continued support and resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children aged 3 to 20 years old who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Working with this diverse population presents opportunities to employ tailored therapeutic techniques that accommodate various needs, backgrounds, and family dynamics. Engaging effectively with the caretakers is also critical, as they play a pivotal role in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Texas is mandatory.

• Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, specifically during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with some weekend availability preferred.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support techniques is highly desirable.

• Prior work experience with children, specifically those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is a significant advantage.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are essential for travel to clients' homes.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is necessary for employment.

Compensation and Benefits\n
