Inner Canvas Wellness is seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our passionate team, providing essential therapeutic services to children and families throughout Arlington, Virginia and beyond. This full-time position is primarily remote, allowing flexibility to accommodate your schedule while you make a significant impact in the lives of youth with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The compensation for this role ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 annually.

This position allows for a flexible work arrangement, primarily conducted remotely, with in-home visits as needed for therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in client homes or group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, allowing for personalized attention and targeted interventions.

• Develop and implement treatment plans focusing on behavioral support, including anger management and social skills development.
\n
• Facilitate sessions aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors (such as self-injury and physical aggression) through positive engagement strategies.
\n
• Engage actively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, ensuring integrated strategies in support of the youth and their families.
\n
• Complete necessary documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated time frames to maintain compliance and ensure continuity of care.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss cases and generate recommendations for treatment adjustments as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role is centered around working with children and adolescents aged 3-20 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The therapist will provide tailored support to this diverse group, helping them navigate behavioral issues while enhancing their emotional and social skills. By utilizing targeted therapeutic techniques, the LMFT will significantly contribute to improved family dynamics and individual youth development.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours from 4-7 PM, with weekend availability considered a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are essential for traveling to clients’ homes for therapy sessions.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required for all candidates.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions tailored to children with challenging behaviors.

• Prior experience working with youth within the age range of 3-20, especially those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

• Proficiency in using evidence-based therapeutic modalities to engage, assess, and treat children and families effectively.

Compensation and Benefits\n
