Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Our client is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead its FP&A function and serve as a key strategic partner to executive leadership.
This is a highly visible role with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, executive reporting, and strategic analysis. The Director will lead a small team of financial analysts while partnering closely with senior finance leadership on both traditional FP&A and broader strategic initiatives.
The organization is also focused on modernizing its finance function, making this a great opportunity for someone interested in leveraging technology and AI to improve reporting, analysis, and overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
- Prepare financial and management reporting for executive leadership and the Board
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial analysts
- Partner closely with senior finance leadership on strategic initiatives
- Support financial modeling related to acquisitions, licensing, and other growth opportunities
- Analyze financial performance, trends, and key business drivers
- Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes, reporting, and overall efficiency
- Help evaluate and implement opportunities to leverage AI and technology within the finance function
What We’re Looking For
- Strong progressive FP&A experience with ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Prior leadership or people management experience
- Experience preparing executive-level and/or Board reporting
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Exposure to M&A, transaction-related modeling, licensing, or other strategic finance initiatives is highly desirable
- Experience using technology, automation, or AI to improve finance processes is a plus
- Background supporting a complex, multi-faceted organization preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership
