Radiology Multi Modality Technologist-Night Shift

Overview The Multi‑Modality Technologist 1 will be competent and credentialed initially in Radiography with the credential in CT obtained within one year of hire. The incumbent will be able and willing to flex between them as needed. Schedule 3 overnight shifts per week, every other weekend, call and holiday rotation. Shift Nights Location Roscoe Clinic Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintain active status in the modalities in which they practice. Assist the department coordinator by providing clinical leadership, completing projects, performing advanced level clinical duties and regular assignments as requested. Be competent in all exams performed within the assigned modalities. Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by the radiologist. Prepare the patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures. Position patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort; immobilize patient as necessary. Practice aseptic technique as necessary. Prepare and administer contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed; start and maintain intravenous access. Initiate basic life support action when necessary. Provide patient education. Provide input for supply and equipment decisions, maintain control of inventory and supplies for assigned area. Provide practical instruction for students and partners. Observe universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers. Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Two to four years of experience as a technologist as a Radiographer is required. Experience in a hospital environment preferred. Certification & License ARRT registered in Radiography required; the CT credential is required within two years of hire. IEMA‑DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois. WI‑DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin. BLS/CPR required within 90 days of hire. Other Skills & Abilities Experience in working with radiologic technologists, radiologists and support staff in a multimodality department. Proficiency in mentoring employees and providing corrective action appropriately. Experience in obtaining departmental accreditation. Ability to communicate in a friendly and effective manner. Demonstrated ability to foster excellent teamwork in a radiology department. Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently. Read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Basic PC skills. Manage stress appropriately. Make decisions under pressure and handle multiple priorities. Manage anger, fear, hostility or violence of others appropriately.
