What You’ll Do

• Provide post-operative care to inpatient cardiothoracic and vascular patients
• Assist in emergency cardiothoracic surgeries and vascular procedures
• Take consults from ED, cath lab, and other hospital providers
• Harvest veins during heart surgeries as needed
• Assist in the operating room and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and coordinate patient care plans
• Participate in rounding and support call coverage, including weekends and nights

What You Need

• Required:
  • Active Physician Assistant license in Ohio or eligible for licensure
  • At least 1–2 years of surgical or inpatient experience in cardiothoracic or vascular settings
  • Ability to perform vein harvesting and assist in complex surgeries
• Preferred:
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

About the Assignment

This locum position involves working in a hospital-based, inpatient setting providing critical surgical coverage for adult and geriatric patients. You will be integral to the cardiothoracic surgical team, helping manage post-op care and emergency procedures at a busy Level 2 trauma center. The role offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills in a high-volume, dynamic environment.
