Account Manager

Job Summary We are seeking an Account Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Buffalo, NY. This role is ideal for a customer-focused sales and account management professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting customers in construction, manufacturing, steel, lumber, or related industrial markets. The Account Manager will manage existing customer accounts while developing new business within an assigned territory. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts and build strong, long-term client relationships. Grow account revenue through proactive service, upselling, cross-selling, and identifying new business opportunities. Prepare quotes for materials and processing requests, support pricing discussions, and assist with contract renewals. Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, customer service, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Monitor account activity, maintain accurate customer records, and proactively resolve customer questions or concerns. Attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events as needed within the assigned territory. Compensation and Benefits Direct hire opportunity. Salary range: $60,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work arrangement: 2 days in office and 3 days in the field. Start date: ASAP. Required Qualifications and Skills Manage and grow assigned customer accounts within a defined territory. Develop new business opportunities through relationship building, follow-up, and customer outreach. Prepare customer quotes, support pricing conversations, and coordinate order fulfillment. Partner with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service and account support. 1 to 2 years of experience in sales, account management, customer service, business development, or a related client-facing role. Strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-up skills. Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products, services, or solutions. Comfortable working both independently in the field and collaboratively with internal teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and customer requests. Professional, service-driven approach with a focus on long-term customer satisfaction and account growth. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with customers in construction, manufacturing, steel, lumber, building materials, industrial supply, or related markets. Prior experience preparing quotes, managing pricing conversations, or supporting contract renewals. Familiarity with territory sales, outside sales, or hybrid account management environments. Experience using CRM systems or customer account management tools.
