To support this growth, the company is seeking a Staff Accountant with experience working in a medium to large organization that operates with structured accounting processes, defined policies and procedures, and exposure to moderately complex accounting matters.

Position Summary

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the company’s financial reporting, month-end close, and general accounting operations. This individual will help ensure accounting accuracy, maintain internal controls, and assist leadership in building scalable financial processes to support the company’s next phase of growth.

The ideal candidate will come from a larger or more structured accounting environment, bringing best practices, discipline around accounting policies, and experience handling more complex accounting matters than typically seen in smaller organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and reporting packages
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

Process Improvement & Controls

• Help implement and maintain structured accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Assist leadership in building scalable accounting processes to support company growth
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and workflow automation
• Technical Accounting Support
• Support accounting for more complex transactions, including revenue recognition, accruals, and intercompany activity
• Research and document accounting treatments as needed
• Assist with audit preparation and external auditor support
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with operations, finance leadership, and department heads to ensure financial accuracy
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts as needed
• Assist with special projects related to financial reporting and operational improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA or MBA strongly preferred
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience working in medium to large companies with defined accounting policies and procedures
• Exposure to more complex accounting environments and transactions
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
