While most service delivery occurs remotely, therapists will have opportunities for in-person consultations and team meetings. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments and thorough screenings to evaluate the mental health needs of patients, ensuring the development of individualized treatment plans. Provide short-term individual counseling sessions and crisis intervention services tailored to a range of mental health issues and life challenges. Facilitate therapy groups and workshops that focus on topics such as coping strategies, stress management, and emotional regulation, helping patients build resilience and skills for personal growth. Collaborate effectively with various departments, including medical teams and patient support services, to enhance the overall quality of patient care and ensure a holistic treatment approach. Participate in outreach initiatives, including mental health awareness campaigns and community wellness events, aimed at reducing stigma and increasing access to care. Maintain meticulous and confidential records of patient interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes, adhering to ethical and legal standards. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on serving a diverse patient population, including individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Many patients may also be experiencing psychosocial stressors related to their medical conditions, making this role critical in providing integrated mental health support. Qualifications A valid and active state license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist. A master’s or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Demonstrated understanding of the mental health challenges specifically faced by hospital patients and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with a diverse client base and collaboration with healthcare professionals. Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based practices and brief therapy models suited for a fast-paced counseling center environment. A proven ability to manage a diverse caseload, prioritize tasks effectively, and work efficiently in a remote setting. Preferred Experience Experience working within a hospital or healthcare setting, particularly in outpatient mental health services. Familiarity with telehealth practices and tools to enhance service delivery and patient engagement. Previous work experience in group therapy facilitation and crisis intervention.
