Staff Accountant

Job Summary Staff Accountant / Sr. Bookkeeper at Mission Springs Camps & Conference Center. Reports to the Director of Business & Finance. Responsible for overseeing daily and monthly financial operations while ensuring strong financial integrity and stewardship across the organization. Key Responsibilities Ensure financial controls and procedures are consistently followed in alignment with Mission Springs policies. Perform accounts payable, deposits, and some cash management functions. Ensure accurate transaction details and financial records. Manage payroll preparation and processing for all personnel. Administer employer contributions to the 403(b) plan, ensuring timely and accurate funding. Manage leaseholder assessment billing, including semi-annual invoicing and payment tracking. Provide account statements and respond to inquiries as needed. Oversee property tax payments and ensure compliance with required deadlines. Complete annual welfare exemption filings. Prepare and file Sales and Use tax returns. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations. Manage fleet-related administrative needs (DMV, insurance, maintenance documentation). Support strategic initiatives and organizational planning through financial insight and reporting. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred). Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel. Experience with payroll systems such as Paylocity (or similar platforms) preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Self‑motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Position Details Full-Time, Exempt. Salary range: $65,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
