Step into a rewarding, full-time opportunity supporting elementary students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher. This contract position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with a schedule running Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Most days follow this routine, though occasional IEP meetings may extend your workday—these are generally planned during school hours for your convenience. Fridays offer an early release, so you’ll typically end your day by 1 PM.

In this role, you will lead a structured classroom with a small, supportive caseload of 9-10 students in a Special Day Class (SDC), with a maximum cap of 14. You’ll oversee approximately 9-10 annual IEPs, beginning with your first case in mid-September. The environment emphasizes collaboration and personalized instruction in a community-focused school setting.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active California mild/moderate credential is required
• Experience planning and implementing individualized instruction for elementary students
• Proficiency in developing, executing, and managing IEPs
• Dedication to fostering a nurturing, inclusive classroom culture
• Strong communication skills for interacting with families, colleagues, and related service providers

Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver targeted lessons to engage students with varied learning needs
• Develop and maintain IEPs, ensuring compliance and optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure cohesive educational experiences
• Regularly communicate student progress to families and the team
• Maintain an organized, positive, and supportive classroom
