Accounting Manager

Our client is a global manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead finance transformation initiatives across a complex, multi-entity business. About the Role This is not a traditional accounting management role focused solely on month-end close. Instead, this position will play a critical role in modernizing finance operations by improving accounting processes, enhancing reporting capabilities, driving ERP and automation initiatives, and partnering with leadership to standardize financial operations across the organization. Responsibilities Finance Process Improvement & Standardization Evaluate existing accounting and finance processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Design and implement standardized accounting procedures across multiple business units. Improve month-end close, reporting workflows, and financial processes to increase consistency and efficiency. Develop documentation, governance standards, and best practices for finance operations. Accounting, Controls & Data Governance Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting accuracy. Lead initiatives to improve master data quality, account structures, reconciliations, and reporting consistency. Partner with internal and external auditors to support compliance and process improvements. Ensure accounting processes comply with company policies and financial reporting requirements. Systems & Finance Transformation Partner with Finance Systems and IT to improve ERP functionality and financial reporting capabilities. Support ERP enhancements, system implementations, automation initiatives, and reporting optimization. Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes through technology and workflow improvements. Assist with financial systems testing, implementation, and user adoption. Lead multiple cross-functional finance projects from planning through implementation. Develop project timelines, monitor milestones, manage risks, and communicate project status to leadership. Facilitate workshops with finance and operational stakeholders to develop future-state processes. Drive organizational change while building alignment across multiple functional teams. Reporting & Business Insights Develop standardized financial reporting and executive dashboards. Improve KPI reporting and financial visibility across the organization. Support leadership with financial analysis that improves operational performance and business decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or controllership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience leading process improvement, finance transformation, ERP implementation, or shared services initiatives. Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting, and business processes. Experience working within complex, multi-entity organizations. Advanced Excel skills with experience using ERP systems and business intelligence tools. Excellent project management, communication, and change management skills. Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational improvement. Preferred Skills Manufacturing or industrial industry experience. ERP implementation or optimization experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, or similar). Experience with Power BI, automation tools, workflow software, or financial reporting platforms. Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
