Junior Staff Accountant

Office Operations ManagerSafely and effectively manage all aspects of the office operations for the Division in an efficient manner and prepare worksheets, reconciliations and journal entries related to Company transactions on an as needed basis. This position reports directly to the General Manager and the Division ControllerCompensation and Benefits$28.00 hourlyMedical, dental and vision coverage offered401(k) With employer contributionPaid holidays, vacation and sick timeCompany sponsored life insuranceCompany sponsored short and long-term disabilityPet InsuranceDuties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in Month-End Closing and other accounting related functionsPerform miscellaneous AP functions, including printing checks, upload positive pay bank files and send the AP check registers to related parties as necessaryPerform monthly product code updates and generate customer rebates, and other related dutiesReview reporting and charges related to transactions with Management for approvalsPrepares weekly sales reportsPerform monthly entry and/or review of ERP transaction related to Company activity, including verification and performing monthly closing proceduresAnalyze, reconcile and generate inventory reportGenerate reporting and perform periodic reviews of transactions related to raw material volumes, customer invoicing, and raw material customer payments. Resolve any reporting differences.Perform and/or assist in preparing worksheets, reconciliations, and/or journal entries in connection with Company transactionsVerify vehicle expense reporting to Company's internal vehicle reporting systemGenerate financial reports using an integrated systemPrepare periodic filing related to business operationsMaintain inventory supplies for officeAnalyze account balances for variances and prepare account reconciliationsInteract with others in a professional mannerFollow department and Company proceduresPerform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the businessKeep up regular attendance and punctuality. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of the Company.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting or Finance2-3 Year Experience in AccountingExperience in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable preferredProficient in Microsoft Excel (V-Lookup, Pivot Tables)Strong written and oral communication skillsMust have excellent work ethic, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job doneLess than 5% travel requiredPhysical Demands/Requirements:Constantly (over 2/3):Operates computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine and printer.Remain in a stationary position for 50% or more of the timeReview documents, organize data and detect accuracy of informationFrequently (1/3-2/3):Moves throughout office accessing files, office machinery, etc.Communicates with co-workers and exchanges accurate information in-person, telephonically and via electronic devices/e-mailOccasionally (under 1/3):Moves materials or documents up to 25 lbsAbout Baker Commodities, Inc.Baker Commodities Inc. has been in business for over 80 years.
