Accounts Payable Clerk

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the supervision of the Controller or his/her designee, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for:

- Handling of all Accounts Payable for all branches as well as Child Care Centers
- Review sales and lease agreements.
- Assist the Controller in researching, obtaining and analyses quotes for the organization.
- Monitor credit card balances and payments.
- Assist the Controller in analyzing expenses to ensure the most cost-effective avenue is taken.
- Manage Positive Pay Management with banking institute.
- Review mail and perform filing of all invoices.
- Complete all check requests in an accurate and timely fashion ensuring all necessary back-up and documentation is in place.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as may be periodically assigned by the Controller.
- Assist the Finance and Leadership team with financial information as needed.
- Prepare, maintain and supply 1099 forms to auditors.
- Collect and maintain W-9 and Certificate of Insurance documents.
- Work professionally and ethically with all staff.
- Immediately alert the Controller to any discrepancies found.
- Associate degree in Accounting, four years Bookkeeping experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, General Ledger and Accounts Payable software packages.
- Must be a team player with good organization, communication skills, and detail oriented.
- Cooperate; work effectively and congenially with all staff members, volunteers and members of the Association.
- This position requires a high degree of confidentiality.
- An ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to a wide scope of individuals.
