The primary responsibilities are to lead outbound business-to-business sales generation activities and manage their daily strategy for establishing new business. The Business Development Associate will also perform market research and analysis that can be utilized for adjusting effective strategies.Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Develop and manage sales strategy and approach in order to generate new business leads in conjunction with Sales ProducersExecute outbound prospecting campaigns in each market sector, designed to drive qualified new business leads and appointmentsUncover new sales opportunities by networking to increase contactsRepresent and sell MMA East's capabilities for trade show event activitiesPrioritize prospects and remain cognizant of changing market conditionsPerform research for each assigned market sector in preparation for strategy while partnering with the Producers for further qualification and interactionPerform research on competitors and their offerings; present information to the proper individuals as requiredProficient with internal sales systems needed to request team assignments, log prospects into pipeline, track new business, and request contractsPCF completion and approval processTracking budget to actual on sold clients during quarterly and yearend reviewConference preparation: vetting attendee list, utilizing AI for gathering pre-call intel on prospects, creating prospect data breakdown sheetsPost-conference tasks: setting up calls with prospects, sending out first call data requests, outreach campaigns, updating salesforce regularlyTraveling to conferences throughout the year with ProducersCompiles activity log and prospect spreadsheets for weekly meetingsRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience requiredSome work experience in a sales, marketing, professional services or customer services driven environment preferredExperience in business-to-business sales or outbound sales environments preferredActive Life and Health License preferred; if not licensed, required to obtain Life and Health License within first 90 days of employmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be a self-starter who requires minimal supervisionSelf-motivation to take initiative and manage all time-sensitive conference follow-upAbility to engage with others and work as part of a teamAptitude for, or demonstrated working knowledge of, sales automation technologies and/or experience applying these technologies in the sales processOutstanding and effective telephone skillsStrong written, verbal and listening skillsExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing prioritiesStrong creative problem-solving and analytical skillsIntegrity: Follows through on commitments while upholding quality and ethical standards.Accountability: Takes ownership, seeks and applies feedback, and makes thoughtful, reliable decisions.Innovation: Challenges the status quo, embraces change, and leverages shared workflows.Collaboration: Works effectively across teams, builds relationships, shares learnings, and leads with curiosity.Passion: Approaches work with discipline, enthusiasm, and willingness to embrace and overcome challenges.Professional demeanor.Regular and predictable attendance in accordance with company policy.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard Marsh Agency systems and applications.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
