The Opportunity

At Alera Group, our Employee Benefits team helps organizations attract, retain, and support their employees through innovative benefits solutions. As an Accounting Clerk , you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional client service, building trusted relationships, and helping clients navigate the complexities of employee benefits.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support accounts receivable activities and maintain accurate commission transaction records
• Process and balance daily commission transactions within AgencyBloc
• Review and classify revenue transactions for proper allocation by subsidiary, general ledger account, class, department, and location
• Modify and import carrier commission statements from Excel files into AgencyBloc
• Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies, missing payments, and transaction errors
• Generate commission reports using AgencyBloc and other reporting tools
• Collaborate with internal departments to establish and maintain accurate commission split arrangements
• Provide responsive customer service to agents, carriers, and colleagues regarding commission-related inquiries

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required; currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential and time-sensitive information with professionalism
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint
• Ability to quickly learn new software systems and business applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship, coursework, or experience related to accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience working with financial systems, CRM platforms, or reporting tools
• Familiarity with AgencyBloc, Tipalti, QuickBooks, Concur, or Adobe Acrobat
• Customer service experience in a professional environment
• Understanding of accounts receivable processes and basic accounting principles

Compensation

• Hourly Range: $20-$22 hourly
