Position Summary: The Financial Analyst VI serves as a senior strategic financial leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide financial planning, analysis, and decision support across multiple divisions and programs. This role acts as a connector, influencer, and trusted advisor to executive leadership by providing high-level financial insights, identifying organizational risks and opportunities, and supporting long-term business strategy and operational execution. The Financial Analyst VI partners closely with senior leadership, program management, contracts, and operational teams to influence organizational priorities, optimize financial performance, and ensure alignment with government contracting requirements and organizational objectives. This role is expected to lead through collaboration, mentor and develop junior financial staff, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial operations and strategic decision-making across the organization. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: • Expert-level knowledge of financial management practices related to government contract management, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, invoicing, indirect rates, and financial reporting. • Advanced knowledge of U.S. government contracting regulations and requirements, including FAR, DFARS, cost allowability, and compliance standards. • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. • Experience leading or supporting organizational process improvements and financial transformation initiatives preferred. • Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite, complex financial models, and linked workbooks.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. • Strong ethical standards and integrity. • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities. Education, Certifications, and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience progressively responsible financial leadership experience within government contracting, defense, nonprofit, or related industries, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for success in the role, with at least 8 years in a government or defense contracting environment. • Demonstrated experience supporting executive leadership and influencing strategic business decisions. • Experience with financial systems and software, such as Deltek Costpoint. • Experience supporting high-growth organizations, strategic initiatives, or organizational transformation efforts preferred. • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Defense Financial Manager, CPA, CMA) preferred. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Travel Expectations: • Expected travel: Minimal. Periodic travel to HQ for meetings may be required. - Serve as a strategic financial advisor to executive leadership and multiple divisions by providing financial guidance, business insights, and recommendations that support organizational goals and long-term strategy.
- Lead enterprise-level financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities, including development of annual operating plans, multi-year forecasts, Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, and financial modeling.
- Analyze complex financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations that drive organizational performance and informed decision-making.
- Oversee and guide financial management activities related to government contracts, including forecasting, funding analysis, Estimate at Completion (EAC), burn rate analysis, profitability assessments, and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, project managers, contracts, and operational stakeholders to align financial strategies with organizational priorities and contractual obligations.
- Influence cross-functional decision-making through effective communication of financial insights, operational impacts, and strategic recommendations.
- Lead financial reviews and presentations for executive leadership, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages with concise analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government contracting regulations and standards, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and internal financial controls.
- Support organizational growth initiatives by contributing financial expertise to pricing strategies, contract proposals, negotiations, investment analysis, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance financial reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, scalability, and internal controls across the organization.
- Provide leadership and guidance during internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings and accurate supporting documentation.
- Serve as a connector across departments and programs to foster collaboration, consistency, and alignment in financial practices and organizational objectives.
- Mentor, coach, and provide oversight to junior financial analysts and team members by supporting professional development, knowledge sharing, and technical growth.
