Key Personnel is seeking a Controller for a company in the Tulsa, OK area.

Controller Pay: $75,000 - $90,000 annually DOE

Controller Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Controller Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyses, and management information reports
• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Provide financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations to support organizational planning and decision-making
• Assist management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
• Monitor company financial performance and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement

• Oversee all accounting and bookkeeping functions, including general ledger maintenance and financial recordkeeping
• Prepare journal entries to accurately record daily and monthly financial transactions
• Reconcile daily and monthly general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed
• Maintain accounting records, financial databases, and supporting documentation
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and reporting activities
• Maintain and optimize accounting software systems and financial reporting tools

• Establish, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and financial safeguards
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to financial reporting and taxation
• Develop and implement accounting, billing, payment, auditing, and financial procedures
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial consultants as needed
• Prepare schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for audits and tax preparation activities
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial best practices

• Coordinate annual health insurance benefits administration and healthcare contract renewals
• Assist with the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
• Collaborate with leadership to support organizational growth and strategic initiatives
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal departments, vendors, clients, and external partners
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Minimum of 4 years of related accounting experience required
• Strong bookkeeping and financial management experience required
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Experience preparing journal entries, maintaining general ledger accounts, and producing financial reports
• Knowledge of tax reporting requirements and financial compliance standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Access
• Experience using accounting software and financial management systems required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial information
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, clients, and vendors

• Frequent interaction with management, employees, vendors, clients, and external financial partners
• Fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail and time management skills
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism required
• Occasional overtime may be required to meet reporting deadlines and business needs

Controller Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
• Frequent use of computers, telephones, calculators, photocopiers, and other office equipment
• Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, video conference, and written correspondence
• Hearing within normal range for telephone communications
• Occasional bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting of office materials up to 20 lbs.
• Prompt and dependable attendance required
