Posting Summary The Zander laboratory at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology investigates stimulus‑induced 3D epigenome reprogramming in crop and medicinal plant species. The lab develops cistrome mapping tools for various plant species and explores transcription factor DNA‑driven 3D epigenome dynamics in immune responses. The Postdoctoral Associate reports directly to the laboratory Principal Investigator (PI). Responsibilities Conduct grant‑funded research directed by the PI, including genetic, (epi)genomics, and proteomic analyses in crop and medicinal plant species. Publish findings and contribute to manuscript writing and production. Provide preliminary data for grant proposals, write grant materials, and present results at scientific meetings. Train and oversee undergraduate researchers on methods in Arabidopsis genetics, genomics, recombinant DNA techniques, protein biochemistry, microscopy, high‑throughput proteomics, presentation, record keeping, and basic laboratory techniques. Work independently with supervision as necessary, maintaining documentation and communication. Qualifications Doctorate in biochemistry, molecular biology, or allied field. In‑depth understanding and hands‑on experience in preparation and analysis of proteins, nucleic acids, and complexes. In‑depth experience in molecular cloning and sequencing. Experience handling various genomic datasets. Effective spoken and written English required. High level of computer literacy required. Preferred Qualifications In‑depth understanding and hands‑on experience in RNA‑seq and ChIP‑seq sample preparation, data collection, and data processing.
