Job Summary: This full-time role involves varied shifts, including three 12-hour weekday shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM and additional weekday and weekend shifts. The Medical Assistant supports healthcare delivery and patient management in a clinical setting, adapting daily duties to meet the practice's needs. Essential Responsibilities:
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States, offering a warm and collaborative environment focused on quality patient care.
- Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk clients. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines.
- Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, triaging as necessary, and offer patients reassurance, clear instructions, and education.
- Ensure smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits, including accurate and updated medical records.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints; observe and communicate abnormal findings to physicians and document accordingly.
- Assist physicians with testing, treatments, minor surgeries, and physicals, including applying splints and dressings, managing sample medications, and arranging referrals and patient testing.
- Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as prescribed.
- Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, ensuring cleanliness, and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned, adapting to evolving responsibilities.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program.
