Human Resources & Administrative Manager

Our client in Gansevoort, NY is seeking a permanent Human Resources & Administrative Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources administration, compliance, employee records management, payroll processing, and key business administrative functions. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting employee lifecycle activities, maintaining critical company records, and providing administrative support across multiple departments. This position is paying $30.00-35.00/hour depending on experience. Human Resources Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant tracking, interviewing coordination, and onboarding. Coordinate and track all new hire documentation and pre‑employment screening requirements, including drug testing. Establish, maintain, and audit employee personnel files and HR records. Manage employee timekeeping systems and verify payroll-related records. Process and respond to New York State Unemployment Insurance claims and inquiries. Administer COBRA notifications and continuation coverage requirements. Coordinate and track FMLA, New York State Paid Family Leave (PFL), Disability Benefits Law (DBL), Paid Sick Leave (PSL), and other leave requests. Monitor and log PTO, PSL, FMLA, and other leave utilization. Administer employee benefit programs, including health and dental insurance enrollments and changes. Maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) driver qualification records. Manage FMCSA Clearinghouse queries and compliance requirements. Administer LENS (License Event Notification Service) program monitoring. Maintain I-9 documentation and employment eligibility verification records. Track and report veteran status and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) data. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Administrative & Accounting Responsibilities Process accounts payable and maintain vendor records. Perform monthly corporate credit card reconciliations. Calculate and report use tax obligations. Issue and maintain tax exemption certificates. Complete credit applications and establish vendor accounts. Prepare and file annual state business registrations and compliance filings. Coordinate (Prequal) renewals and related compliance requirements. Provide administrative support and cross‑functional coverage during employee vacations and absences. Administer company health insurance renewal processes and annual benefit reviews. Payroll back-up asneeded. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits Administration, or Business Administration. Strong knowledge of New York State employment laws and HR compliance requirements. Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration. Familiarity with DOT compliance, FMCSA Clearinghouse, and LENS programs preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities. Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
