Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel ```htmlJob Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Ortho/Neuro Trauma – North Carolina Start Date: September 21, 2026 Location: Wilmington, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; 36 or 48 hours per week accepted; every other weekend required; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:5-6 Highlights: Specialized unit caring for patients with severe bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, and neurological trauma Epic documentation system with Pyxis medication management Comprehensive orientation including 12-hour unit orientation and 16-hour organizational education Floating to similar units and alternate care locations as needed Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more Contract may include assignment to storm team or hurricane team during catastrophic events Requirements: Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted) Minimum 2 years of recent experience in acute care within the last 5 years BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Epic charting experience required Must pass EKG testing prior to start date Proficiency in heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts Experience with dysrhythmia management, oxygen protocol management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, tracheostomy management, and wound care Comfortable managing 5-6 patients per shift Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) First-time travelers and local candidates accepted Why It's a Great Opportunity: This role offers the chance to provide critical care to a diverse trauma and neurological patient population in a supportive, well-resourced environment.
