Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Interventional Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based nursing practices in a fast-paced cardiac lab environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patients' clinical status before, during, and after catheterization and EP procedures.
• Prepare and monitor patients, ensuring the safe administration of medications, contrast agents, and IV therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-care instructions, and health promotion strategies.
• Document all nursing interventions and patient responses accurately in electronic health records.
• Promote safety and quality improvement initiatives within the cardiac lab setting, escalating hazards as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry and cardiac catheterization lab experience.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience; travel experience preferred for travel positions.
• EPIC electronic medical record experience highly preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; associate degree considered with relevant experience or current BSN enrollment.
