Our team's creativity, expertise, and dedication to providing practical solutions for our clients set us apart in the industry.  ABOUT THE ROLEThe Commissioning Project Development Specialist is a unique hybrid role that combines technical commissioning expertise with client-facing project development. You will help identify and secure commissioning and retro-commissioning opportunities while also leading the execution of those projects to deliver measurable improvements in building performance, reliability, and energy efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working directly with clients, and seeing projects through from opportunity to outcome. WHAT YOU'LL DOBuild relationships with building owners, facility teams, engineers, and internal partners to develop commissioning opportunities.Identify client needs and develop commissioning and retro-commissioning solutions.Support proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations.Lead commissioning and retro-commissioning projects from assessment through verification and closeout.Evaluate HVAC, controls, lighting, and building systems through site investigations and testing.Develop commissioning plans, documentation, and test procedures aligned with industry standards.Perform functional testing, trend analysis, and performance verification.Identify system issues, recommend improvements, and coordinate corrective actions.Train facility staff and support long-term system performance.Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams.Travel to client sites as needed. WHAT YOU'LL BRINGBachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in commissioning, retro-commissioning, BAS, or energy services.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building controls.Experience working directly with clients in a technical or consultative role.Commissioning certifications (CxA, BCxP) preferred.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Willingness to travel regionally.WHY JOIN US Play a visible role in growing a high-impact Energy Services practice.Combine technical expertise with client-facing project development.Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives.Strong benefits package including healthcare, retirement, and paid time off.Collaborative culture that values expertise, accountability, and continuous improvement.Opportunities to grow your technical and leadership skills.
