Job Title: Machine Builder Location: Grand Rapids, MI Pay: $28-35/hr Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Builder to assemble, install, and troubleshoot custom machinery and automation equipment. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assemble custom machines, equipment, and subassemblies according to blueprints and engineering drawings Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs) Install mechanical components including bearings, conveyors, pneumatics, and structural frames Perform alignment, fitting, and adjustments to ensure proper machine function Assist with machine testing, troubleshooting, and final runoffs Work closely with engineering and controls teams during builds and modifications Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures and company policies Qualifications 2+ years of machine building, mechanical assembly, or related experience Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and/or automation equipment preferred Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Experience with custom automation or special-purpose machinery Basic electrical knowledge (wiring, sensors, etc.) Familiarity with precision measuring tools Work Environment Manufacturing and assembly environment Exposure to machinery, noise, and tools Hands-on, fast-paced setting requiring attention to detail Benefits Competitive pay Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Overtime opportunities Career growth and advancement potential Schedule 1st shift (with possible overtime and weekend work as needed) #TSTRATHP By providing your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages from Talent Strategy regarding your job application, interviews, and employment updates.
