Oversee the administration and management of various medical procedures and treatments in the oncology setting, including vascular access devices and infusion treatments.

Maintain a current Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider card.

Demonstrate high level of skill in the administration of chemotherapy, biologic, immunotherapeutic agents, blood, blood products, non-oncology infusions and injections used in the treatment of chronic medical and hematologic oncologic disorders.

Conduct in service education based on insights gained from oncology professional development activities and acquiring specialized skills in oncology-specific areas, including chemotherapy administration, oncology electronic ordering systems, and calculating drug dosages.

Manage monitoring requirements for specific drugs, handling immediate infusion reactions, and preventing and managing oncology-related symptoms and adverse events, such as chemo-related symptoms and immune-related adverse events.

NOTE: All RNs providing direct oncology care must demonstrate one of the following:

• Current Cancer-specific certification in the nurse's specialty by an accredited certification program -OR-
• Ongoing education by earning 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours each accreditation cycle. (36 contact hours in 3 years)

This position requires flexibility in schedule and assignments. A current and valid driver's license is required for this position.
