Block Advisors Bookkeeper

Overview Responsible for processing operational data for client bookkeeping systems, determining how best to record financial information (income, expenses, returned checks, bank charges, labor hours/codes) and manually recording it into the bookkeeping system. Maintains documentation and supports accurate financial recordkeeping for clients. Responsibilities Receive operational data for entry into the client's bookkeeping system and determine the best method to record financial information (income, expenses, returned checks, bank charges, labor hours/codes). Manually record information into the bookkeeping system. Ensure checks are endorsed properly and deposited into the correct account each day. Prepare charge card transactions on the day received. Report all income and bank charges and related information. Balance and reconcile ledgers that become part of the client's general ledger system. Reconcile cash and bank accounts on an agreed basis, comparing account balances to other recorded sources. Develop detailed reports periodically for the business client regarding business income, expenses, gross taxes, and related reports as needed. Perform payroll services as requested by the business client, including preparation of payroll checks and monthly, quarterly, and annual employee and employer payroll reports. Ensure payroll is in accordance with local, state, and federal wage and hour laws. Maintain a manual file system to store hard-copy documents after entry into the record-keeping system. Identify issues with the current process and notify management of potential concerns and proposed solutions; the client is informed of issues and solutions related to maintaining financial records. Participate in meetings and training sessions to continuously improve bookkeeping services for the client. Attend training related to the effective and efficient performance of job duties.
