Job Description

A well-established employer in South Bend, IN is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to support payroll administration for a union workforce. This position manages time and attendance data, reconciles employee hours and incentive pay, resolves payroll discrepancies, and partners closely with Human Resources and operations. The ideal candidate has experience with ADP eTime or a similar timekeeping system, advanced Excel skills, and previous experience working in a union environment. This is an onsite, temp-to-hire opportunity requiring strong accuracy, organization, and the ability to meet daily deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily time and attendance activities, including reviewing timecards, entering information, and clearing exceptions within ADP eTime.
• Reconcile employee hours, production information, incentive pay, payroll adjustments, union dues, and daily payroll summaries to ensure accuracy.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee questions regarding timecards, pay, and adjustments.
• Partner with Human Resources, supervisors, and operations to ensure payroll activities comply with union agreements, employment policies, and benefits practices.
• Prepare and maintain payroll reports, spreadsheets, audits, production data, process documentation, and other administrative records while supporting basic accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required

• 1+ years of experience with ADP eTime or a similar payroll/timekeeping system .
• 1+ years of experience working in a union environment .
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including data tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail with experience managing and reconciling spreadsheet-based data.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with employees, supervisors, HR, and other teams.
• Must be able to work onsite Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, and work overtime as required .
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check .

Preferred

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to SAP .
• Some college coursework in accounting, business, or a related field.

The base pay range for this position is $20.00–$24.00 per hour , excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
