Staff Accountant

Leading Financial Services and Technology firm is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a collaborative finance team at a growing financial services and technology company. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, producing accurate financial information, and improving how accounting work gets done.

You’ll support day-to-day accounting and the month-end close while gaining exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, and projects across the business.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
\n
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
\n
• Review general ledger activity and investigate discrepancies.
\n
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and expense accounting.
\n
• Support accounts payable and other accounting activities as needed.
\n
• Prepare documentation for external audits and tax requests.
\n
• Partner with colleagues to resolve accounting questions and improve processes.
\n
• Maintain organized records and follow established internal controls.
\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
\n
• Approximately 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting or financial services experience is a plus.
\n
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
\n
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
\n
• Attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to meet deadlines.
\n
• A proactive approach and interest in learning as the business grows.
\n
• CPA eligibility or progress toward the designation is a plus.
