Assistant Controller

Tarvos Talent is partnering with a highly regarded organization to identify an Assistant Controller for their Austin, TX office in a primarily onsite environment. In this role, the Assistant Controller will take ownership of core fund accounting and reporting across multiple funds and related entities. You will manage and review the work of staff, oversee financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP, and coordinate annual audits while serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors. Additionally, you will support capital calls, distributions, valuations, and investor reporting, while partnering cross-functionally to enhance processes and ensure accurate, timely financial insights.

The ideal candidate will bring 6–10+ years of experience in fund accounting or finance, with a strong preference for venture capital or private equity exposure. A CPA is preferred, along with deep knowledge of US GAAP and partnership accounting, and experience working with outsourced administrators. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
