Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and families, identifying emotional, social, and environmental factors that influence their diagnosis and treatment.

• Formulate, develop, and implement individualized care plans utilizing evidence-based social work interventions, ensuring they align with patient and family needs.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, actively engaging patients and families in the care plan development and execution.
\n
• Facilitate effective discharge planning, interacting with consulting physicians, insurers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth transitions in care.

• Provide education and counseling to patients and families, helping them navigate the adjustments associated with illness and medical treatments.

• Utilize crisis intervention techniques and provide both brief and long-term therapeutic services, including individual, group, and family therapy as needed.

• Serve as a resource for staff education, sharing insights on psychosocial care practices with colleagues and other health professionals.

• Clinically assess patients within the oncology department for mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, providing targeted short-term counseling interventions.
\n
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hour support, ensuring patients receive the necessary care whenever required.
\n
• Facilitate involuntary examinations under the Baker Act when clinically warranted, promoting patient safety and well-being.
\n
• Present at educational conferences to share best practices in psychosocial oncology and mental health care.
\n
• Engage with community services, offering education, consultation, and research initiatives aimed at enhancing resources for cancer survivors.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
