Litigation Associate

The Litigation Associate will manage a varied caseload, provide strong litigation support from initial pleadings through trial, and work closely with partners and clients to achieve favorable outcomes. The ideal candidate has proven litigation experience and the ability to handle complex legal issues efficiently; experience or interest in healthcare-related matters is a strong plus.Key ResponsibilitiesManage an active litigation caseload including drafting complaints, answers, motions, and briefsConduct factual and legal research and prepare persuasive memoranda and court filingsHandle all phases of discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and depositionsPrepare witnesses, take and defend depositions, and support trial preparation and courtroom proceedingsAdvise and communicate with clients on strategy, case status, risks, and settlement optionsDevelop case strategy in coordination with partners, including motion practice, evidentiary strategy, and trial plansSupervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals, delegating tasks and reviewing work productManage deadlines, docketing, and billing to meet firm productivity and quality standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams on matters implicating regulatory or compliance issues, particularly when healthcare issues are involvedParticipate in business development activities, including client meetings, proposals, and thought leadershipQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing2+ years of litigation experience at a law firm or in-house litigation practice (associates with a range of experience will be considered)Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents and conducting depositionsStrong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skillsAbility to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and as part of a teamExperience with e-discovery platforms and document review preferredPrior exposure to healthcare matters (e.g., regulatory compliance, False Claims Act, Stark/Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, medical malpractice) is highly desirable but not requiredExcellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service and professional ethicsWillingness to travel to court, depositions, and client sites as needed
