Compliance and Credentialing Analyst (Project Policy Analyst 3)

Overview Under the general direction of the Registrar/Student Services Director, the Compliance and Credentialing Analyst will serve as the division’s lead analyst for academic and regulatory compliance, credentialing, accreditation-related continuing education credit management, and accessibility coordination. The position is responsible for interpreting and applying complex federal, state, University, Academic Senate, accreditor, and professional association policies and requirements that support online, hybrid, and continuing education programs. The Compliance and Credentialing Analyst will collaborate with campus academic departments, instructional and student services teams, external accrediting and professional organizations, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure programs and credentials align with institutional standards, regulatory requirements, workforce needs, and learner success outcomes. The Compliance and Credentialing Analyst leads and coordinates compliance activities related to State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA), academic credit approval workflows, Academic Senate course and instructor approvals, professional association continuing education credits (e.g., CEUs, CME, CLE, PDUs), credentialing frameworks, digital badges, and accessibility compliance initiatives. The position is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, systems, and operational improvements to ensure compliance, mitigate institutional risk, and support efficient program administration across the division. Responsibilities 45% - Academic & Regulatory Compliance Management 25% - Accreditation & Continuing Education Credit Management 20% - Credential Management 10% - Accessibility Management Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., higher education administration, public policy, business, or equivalent experience and training). Experience interpreting and applying policies, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., state authorization, accreditation, academic policy, or similar). Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing systems, processes, and complex workflows involving multiple stakeholders and systems. Proficiency with enterprise systems (e.g., student information systems, CRM platforms) and standard business tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate requirements and recommend solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex regulatory or policy information. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and successfully lead projects by influencing stakeholders and driving outcomes, including navigating complex organizational dynamics. Preferred Qualifications Experience with state authorization compliance (including SARA or non-SARA environments). Experience working with Academic Senate processes, course approvals, or academic governance structures. Experience managing professional association accreditation or continuing education credits (e.g., CEUs, CME, CLE, PDUs). Experience supporting or managing online or hybrid program compliance, including out-of-state or international delivery considerations. Experience developing policies, procedures, or process improvements and collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., academic units, marketing, enrollment, external partners) in a continuing and professional education or non-degree program environment. Knowledge of credentialing frameworks, including certificates, digital badges, and non-credit credentials. Familiarity with accessibility and ADA compliance in an educational setting.
