About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Float Pool RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 2026

Location: Central Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, floating within the health system as needed. Some weekends and holidays required (minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule).

• 5:1 patient ratio on nights, weekends, and throughout the schedule
• 24 hours of orientation to support onboarding and system familiarity
• Epic EMR charting system in use facility-wide
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
• BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS preferred
• Proficiency with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with Trauma Level I or II facilities preferred
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Ability and willingness to float across units within the system
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager or director)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Clinical Skills & Experience Preferred:

• Blood product administration and central line care/management
• Management of patients with CVA, renal failure, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Management of BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway support
• Pre/post neurosurgery and hemodialysis patient care
• Wound care, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and PCA pump management
• PICC line and port management, phlebotomy skills
