Senior Principal Pathologist

Senior Principal Pathologist position focused on evaluating safety of experimental compounds through nonclinical models and cross-functional collaboration. The role involves designing in vivo studies, interpreting pathology data, and generating comprehensive safety assessments for early drug development programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific expertise to cross-functional project teams across departments
• Design, direct, and evaluate in vivo toxicology studies in multiple animal species with advanced endpoints
• Integrate anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and study data to generate comprehensive pathology reports
• Develop optimal strategies with toxicologists and other functions to address toxicology issues
• Lead or serve on issue resolution and due diligence teams; ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) with postgraduate veterinary pathology training
• Board Certification in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology (ACVP or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Ph.D. in pathology or related discipline strongly preferred
• 5–15 years of experience as veterinary pathologist in pharmaceutical industry
• Knowledge of pharmacology, toxicology, and drug development processes
• Supervisory abilities and strong written and oral communication skills
• Proven scientific contributions to peer-reviewed literature
